Rollout — Collect & Share Event Photos
Rollout is a group photo sharing app. It collects the photos and videos from an event in one shared album, and helps you find the ones you are in. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how long we keep it.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your photos, videos or face data for advertising or to train AI models. We use the Meta SDK to measure how well our own ads bring people to Rollout. Section 6 explains what it shares.
Your account
You sign in with Apple or Google. We receive and store your name, email address and profile picture from that sign-in, so the people in your events can see who added what.
Photos and videos
Photos and videos you take in Rollout, pick from your gallery, or add through an event's upload link are uploaded to our servers and shown to the members of that event.
Face data
If you set up face search, you take one selfie. Our in-house face detection turns it, and the faces in your events' photos, into face data used only to find the photos you appear in. Face data is processed on our own servers and is never shared with other companies. You can use Rollout without setting up face search.
Events and purchases
We store which events you created or joined. If you pay to upgrade an event, the purchase is handled by Apple or Google; we receive a record of the purchase (which plan, and when), never your card or payment details.
App activity and device information
The app records basic events, such as when it is installed and opened, and when you sign up or create an event. Along with these, it sends your device's advertising ID (on Android), device model, operating system version and IP address to Meta, so we can see which of our ads led to an install. On iPhone we do not ask to track you, so your iPhone's advertising ID is not collected.
What we do not collect
We do not use your photos, videos, face data, name or email for advertising, and we do not build profiles of you.
Photos and videos are deleted permanently 30 days after an event is created. This happens automatically; there is nothing to do. Save any photos you want to keep before then. Events upgraded to a paid plan keep their photos for one year instead.
Face data found in an event's photos is deleted along with those photos.
To delete your account, open Settings in the app and tap "Delete Account". This deletes your account, your name, email and profile picture, and your selfie and face data. Photos you shared stay in their events for the other members until those events are deleted.
Photos and videos in an event are visible only to that event's members. People join by scanning the event's QR code or opening its invite link. The organiser can remove members. Nothing is made public.
Our team may access content only when necessary, for example to investigate a reported violation of our terms or to fix a technical problem.
All data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Files are stored at addresses that cannot be guessed. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable care to protect your data.
We use these providers to run Rollout. They process data only to provide their service to us:
Meta receives only the app activity and device information described in section 1. It never receives your photos, videos, face data, name or email. Meta handles that data under its own privacy policy. On Android you can reset your advertising ID or turn off ad personalisation in your phone's settings, under Google > Ads. We do not share your data with data brokers.
Rollout is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. You can delete your account yourself at any time from Settings in the app. For anything else, contact us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will tell you in the app. Continuing to use Rollout after an update means you accept the updated policy.
