If your family has a wedding in the November and December 2026 season, set up a shared photo album a week before the first function, print its QR code for the venue, and plan one announcement at the sangeet. That simple plan is the difference between having every guest's photos and having a handful of WhatsApp forwards.

Here is a timeline you can follow, based on how the season looks this year.

When the 2026 season starts

Weddings pause during Chaturmas and resume with Dev Uthani Ekadashi, which falls on 20 November 2026 according to most calendars. Popular lists, such as this muhurat calendar from Aza Fashions, show a cluster of auspicious dates in the last ten days of November and the first half of December. Exact dates vary by panchang, region and community, so confirm yours with your family pandit.

What matters for photos is that thousands of weddings will happen on the same few dates. Photographers and studios will be stretched thin, so guest photos will matter even more this year.

One week before the first function

Create the shared album and decide who is in charge of it. It does not have to be the couple. A cousin or a sibling who is good with phones is ideal. Add the link to the digital invite or the itinerary message that goes to close family, so they can join early and test it.

If you are using Rollout, this is when you create the event and download the QR code. A free event covers up to 30 people, and a one-time upgrade covers a full wedding with unlimited guests. See the pricing page for details.

Two or three days before

Print the QR code. Put it on the welcome board, the table cards, the photo booth and near the return gift counter. A short line works best, such as: "Scan to add your photos and find the ones you're in." Our post on QR code photo sharing has more ideas for wording and placement.

Choose two or three photo captains from the younger cousins. Their job is to remind people and help older relatives scan the code.

During the functions

Ask the anchor or DJ to announce the album once at the sangeet or cocktail night, when everyone is together. That one announcement brings in more photos than any number of messages.

Encourage people to add everything, not just their best shots. The blurry photo of the baraat taken from inside the crowd is often the one the couple remembers most.

The week after

Send one reminder in the family WhatsApp group with the link, a day or two after the reception. Many guests only go through their phones once they are home. Then leave the album open for a few weeks and download everything the couple wants to keep.

Try Rollout at your next event

It's free. Guests scan one QR code, every photo from every phone lands in one shared album, and each person finds the photos they're in with a selfie.
